Summary: Written for the Round 2, Challenge 1 at [livejournal.com profile] spn_las. For the prompt: "Time Will Tell".

Gabriel always knew it was a long shot. His brother taught him all his tricks and didn't care about who got caught in the crossfire. Didn't care that the stomach he slid the blade into was family; merely watched as his grace shone bright, building up deep within. Drew the blade up, slicing into the heart of his vessel, a killing blow that released the building pressure until it was bleeding out of his eyes and mouth and the gaping wound his brother so callously carved into him.

He knew it was a long shot. But Gabriel also knew he chose the right side. Now it was only a matter of the Winchesters getting the message he'd left them and collecting rings and tricking Lucifer back into the cage. But if anyone could do it, he knew it would be those chuckle heads who always managed to pull off the impossible.

As darkness encroached on him - so strange from the light he was used to - and he looked into the cold eyes of his brother's vessel, Gabriel knew that only time would tell. It was just too bad his had run out.

Oh so sad but so good, too. Very heroic. I envy you for writing so powerfully in so few words. You never fail to amaze me! :)

Gabriel was very heroic. *nodnod*

Awwww *wibbles* ;_; Thank you for saying so. I wasn't sure how well I portrayed this, so that means a lot.

D'awwww, I remember this one! ^_^

Somehow, I'm not at all surprised it was yours. I mean it made me tear up and you're so good with that! XD All I could think about was I much that whole episode was terrifying and how much I wanted to slaughter the writers. lol.

Brilliant job!

That's really awesome to hear, ZOMG. I'm glad you liked it! And it kinda ripped my heart out to write, so I'm sorry but I'm also pretty happy it made you tear up. ;D Only a little, though.

Thanks so much for the wonderful comment! <3<3<3
