It's always interesting to track the kink memes. You get to know how many people out there have kinks as weird as your own and that's pretty awesome, if at times I wish I could unsee some of them. But it's always my own fault for looking, I get that.

But you also get to keep up with all the ~drama~. People are totally freaking out because someone reposted a prompt with the roles reversed and the OP thought it was "rude" as well as a few others. Here's what I find funny/aggravating:

The person switched the roles from bottom!Jensen to bottom!Jared. And the OP is angry because if they'd "wanted Jensen on top, I would have prompted it".

But I've seen prompts get reposted with the roles reversed all the time, and had nobody comment. You know what I've noticed about those prompts? They're bottom!Jared getting switched to bottom!Jensen. I've seen that happen multiple times, since I've been tracking these comms since I found out about them. And I've never seen them freak out over the bottom!Jared stuff getting switched to bottom!Jensen.

This obviously isn't actually the reason the OP is pissed and I know that. I'm just bitchy and moody and still miffed about someone commenting on a post with "it's not like bottom!Sam/Jared is a rarity" when only about 20% of this year's BB fics were bottom!Jared/Sam. So, yeah. In a ~mood~.

I'm really, really sorry for this stupid, ridiculous whining post. It didn't have much point beyond me wanting to just scream at all the stupid I've witnessed this past week.

Ahhhh. *sighs in relief* So glad to hear someone that thinks the same as me. I just posted a request to Spnstoryfinders the other day, asking for long bottom!Jared/Sam fics, and I MIGHT have mentioned in the request, that my excuse was I couldn't find too many, that they seemed kinda rare, and I was hit with a couple of comments like, "This year's bigbangs are 80% bottom Jared." And exactly what you just put there, someone told me bottom!Sam/Jared isn't a rarity, when..I know good and well it IS! And I see TONS of requests for ONLY bottom!Jensen/Dean fics, and no one talks back to them whatsoever. :( People are unfair.

Bottom!Sam/Jared is rare, at least when compared to the amount of bottom!Dean/Jensen fic. And that's when we're lucky enough to find Sam in a pairing at all (since Dean/Castiel has become so popular and Dean gets a majority of the rare pairs as well).

When I read the comment on your post about bottom!Sam/Jared not being a rarity, my first thought was that they must read bottom!Jensen/Dean or top!Jared/Sam because only people who aren't bottom!S/J fans would say something like that. And like the brat I am, I checked their profile. They're part of the Bottom Jensen and Dean communities as well as the top Jared/Sam comm. *called it*

*snickers* I do the exact same thing lately. I've noticed that if anyone mouths off about bottom!Sam/Jared fans, or even hurt!Sam/Jared fans, it's usually cuz they're bottom!Jensen/Dean fans. And then I feel like a bitch for being mad about it, cuz everyone deserves their preference. And you're right, Dean's in all the rare pairings, and if it's threesome or foursomes, the focus is always on Dean. But..I almost HATE bottom and/or hurt!Jensen/Dean fics, and yet I don't flame people who do. :( Wouldn't dream of it, cuz it's just not fair. And most fics I read lately, if it's bottom/hurt!Jensen/Dean, then Jared/Sam is usually an asshole trying to beg Jensen/Dean for forgiveness through most it...but oh well..I gotta stop, I'm feeling bitchy again. UGH, I know! I hate seeing how Sam/Jared turns into an asshole if it's bottom!Jensen/Dean. I know it doesn't always turn out that way, but so many of them do. And I've read bottom!Jensen fics that I love (2 on my top 5 favorite RPS fics are bottom!Jensen), but it's because Jared is his sweet, lovable self. Goofy and puppy-like and gets his vulnerable moments and it's equal. There's no toppy/bastardness that I see so often in top!Jared fic.

I probably wouldn't have read her fic originally because of the length (I don't generally start reading fics that are longer than ~25k because I can't handle all the angst and suspense packed into longer fics a lot of the time. Another funny thing because most of my top 5 RPS fics are really long). But yeah, I actually got to beta it and experience the amazingness that was Lengths and I'm so glad because otherwise I would have missed out on one of the best pieces of fiction I've ever read.

Oh you betaed it?!...Actually I think I might have known that, now that I think about it, I remember your name at the top or somewhere. *facepalm* So we have you to thank for some of that awesomeness too then! *beams* I remember being amazed that there was no word out of place, everything, the flow of it, the details, even the stinkin punctuation was SPOT. ON! ;D And would your awesome bottom!Jensen fics happen to be on your memories list? Cuz I'd love to see Jared written as his sweet, lovable self while being the "dominate" of the two, I'm actually not sure I've read a fic like that! :O

Dude, you have no idea how happy that makes me to hear. There were three of us who read over the fic and it's such an amazing feeling to know that we didn't miss too much. :D There was certainly a lot of fic to look over (and how awesome that was). :D

Hmm, I don't actually use my memories thing because it confuses me. BUT, I believe I have the links in my bookmarks.
Honestly, you might have already read them. Or at least 'Sunset' because it's fairly popular. But it's too amazing not to read, in my opinion. The same with 'Vending Machines'. And I've listened to the podfic for 'Sunset' more times than I can count.

IKR? It is rare cause for some reason since Jared is the bigger guy he must top which is highly untrue. Yup, I agree. And I know Jensen is the softer, more feminine looking of the two, but for some reason, *I* see him as butch and macho. Even though I'm a Jared/Sam girl, it's when JENSEN/DEAN is written badly that irks me. XD Usually, when he's the bottom, he's all submissive and whiny, and just...*shudders* I don't like seeing him that way. JARED seems the most vulnerable to me, which is why I like him as the bottom. And I'm the same way. The reason I can't stand a lot of bottom!Jensen/Dean fics is because they act so OOC. It's okay in an AU because then the character can be whoever/however you want them to be. But I, personally, cannot read Dean when he's teary-eyed and submissive and made into someone completely the opposite of who his character is. And I've always seen Jensen as a top just because that's the personality I see from him. Even my best friend, who doesn't read slash at all or really get the whole "slashing" thing told me "Jared wouldn't be all toppy. He's such a sweet puppy". And she didn't mean that he couldn't top at all, just that he wouldn't be this huge jerk.

And yeah. He's usually kept fairly well in character with the right writers, which is a lot more enjoyable to read than when he's the top and OOC.

Most of it happened anonymously. And the person who stood up for the OP is also a top!Jared/bottom!Jensen prompter. And the person who told everyone to cool it does both and while I'm glad they got everything stopped before it turned into a huge deal, it's still annoying that this person got told to reword/come up with their own prompt rather than taking it word for word. It really wouldn't bother me if I hadn't seen it done so often before with no comments or reprimands.

I got a review for one of my fics that stated they'd love to have seen who topped in the relationship between Sam and Gabriel because, in their words 'it's hard to tell, Sam's all meek and shy now but he's still really tall.' I kinda gaped a little. Then politely told them to check out all my other fics and see who they thought would bottom. *snicker* Come on!!! With hair that floppy, how can Jared/Sam not bottom. I totally agree with you with what you said. I'm pretty much a dean!girl but I prefer the fics with bottom!Sam/Jared. I really don't understand the fics where Jensen is the bottom and made into a simpering girl. Not that I think Jared is a simpering girl either but he just seems the more likely one to bottom of the pair. It is just so hard to find any fics with a bottom!Jared these days like you said, I know a few people who write bottom!Jared but it is really rare to find them.

The one thing that really annoys me is the lack of tolerance in the fandom from some people, they can't handle others having a different opinon and think it's ok to take it out on others. Personally I have never been on the end of the abuse but I do know others you have and I hate seeing it.
